I would NOT recommend this hotel. We picked this resort because the reviews on tripadvisor were really positive. Firstly, there is not much to do in La Romana. Second, the weather was horrible. Rained everyday on and off (although that was just bad luck and could happen anywhere). The beach was nice but covered in sand bags so we were... more

We had a 6 hour delay at Gatwick for ice on the runway (yeah right). Then we had a 9 hour flight to Punta Cana. When arriviving at the airport it took us a long time to find the first choice Rep or anyone who new which bus to get on. When we eventually found some one in a purple... more

The Resort was absolutely beautiful. The grounds were imaculate, lots of flowers, lovely lawns and the beach was one of the best that we have seen in the Caribbean. The rooms were excellent - lots of space, clean and serviced regularly. The bathroom was large and well kept. When we arrived at the resort, guests that were leaving said to... more

A mixed view of this hotel and resort. The good: The grounds are beautifully landscaped and well tended - fabulous. Numerous birds (including a hummingbird that we never actually managed to capture on film), butterflies, flowers. Paradise. The main hotel lobby is very classy with marble floors, numerous comfy sofas. Our room (3713 in block 37) was right by the... more

On booking our holiday to the Dominican Republic, my partner and I read numerous negative comments on this site for this hotel. Knowing that people will always find something to moan about, we went open minded to see for ourselves. We flew for Manchester to Punta Cana airport, transfer time to the hotel just under 3 hours. First impressions on... more

05.11.08-19.11.08 Beautiful hotel at the end of a 3hr trip from airport having dropped various other folk off. The hotel and setting really is stunning. The rooms are spacious and comfortable with good facilities and we landed an upper floor (all 2 storey blocks) room with a view over the caribbean, lucky on that count methinks. Upon exploring, the hotel... more

We arrived on 25th September for two weeks. We travelled through First Choice. The flight was excellent. Upon arrival we had to pay $10 but we were unaware of this and only had Dominican Peso's on us which they would not accept!!! My advice is to take dollars!! The transfer is quite long, but at least we saw some of... more

We were there when the storm started and it lasted for two and a half days. It even came under the door of our room which we mopped up as we would have done at home. There were updates of the storm on a board in the lobby bar and pictures to keep us informed, other than that as they... more

OK, sorry if this may be a long review, but it's fresh in my head and I figure a detailed description will help others here. As with all holidays, there will always be ups and downs, so I'm not going to rant about anything in particular, just highlight these points. The hotel itself is an excellent building in very good... more
