I thought Central Park was beautiful and also different than I expected. Firstly, it was smaller than I thought, and secondly I just imagined more open green space rather than paths winding around woodland. Obvious highlights were the Wollman Rink, Bethesda Fountain, Belvedere Castle and the Boathouse. I was also really excited to see the Gapstow Bridge with its view... more

Im sorry to say that we didnt find Central Park all that exciting which is a real shame as I was really looking forward to my walk around there (with my tour map). Unfortunately it was quite a let down, we got some nice photos of the bridges & we didnt have time to go to the zoo but apart... more

Nobody can say this is just a park! We only spent a few hours in Central Park on Thanksgiving Day, and barely scratched the surface. We say Strawberry Fields, Bethesda Terrace, Belvedere Castle, and the Alice in Wonderland monument, to name but a few parts of this magnificent park. Even people watching is fun, from tourists, to joggers, to dog... more

We were not sure we could fit in an explore fo the park. In the end, we got up early Saturday and got the tube to the west side, half way up. (approx 8.30am) We then walked across the park through a central pathway. Lots of joggers and dog walkers, so very pleasant and friendly. At the other end of... more

coming from a place with lots of trees and grass and open spaces, it's truly a breath of fresh air to enter into central park after walking through streets of buildings. the best part of the park is its views from the big rocks scattered throughout. on the south east side of the park, there are two huge rock formations... more

Central Park in NYC is a must see, but do not book your carriage ride ahead of time online. We booked a 40 minute ride at one of the least expensive internet sites (Alcatraz Tours) and paid twice what we would have if we'd simply shown up at Central Park. The prices listed on the (no-reservations-needed) carriages sitting in Central... more

Went to Central Park aiming to take the morning to walk it, boy did I underestimate the size of it. Its massive!!!! Entered from the South Side? and walked to the Baseball pitchs, the Pond, the Zoo and all sorts of other places, ended up at a fountain and went rowing in the lake which was just an amazing place... more

When in NYC, if one has never gotten ahold of a good walking tour map (link below to a good one or two) and gone into Central Park to see the sites, you really have no idea what's missed. Firstly, it's huge. Secondly, it's amazing. Central Park Conservancy has a few walking tours but, for the stout of heart and... more

Surprisingly much to see and a nice place to go if you don't want to spend a fortune in the shops. The park is really well kept and the trails are very good. There are a lot of good photo opportunities and a relaxing atmosphere. more

What an amazing place. You completely forget that your in the center of such a busy and crowded city when walking through the park. The small zoo is a bargain for $8.00. The carousel is great for kids and only $2.00 for a pretty long ride. We also did a carriage ride and while pricey was something we were glad... more
