The Met was amazing. We spent several hours in the late 19th century and early 20th century painting, leaving plenty for later vists. We arrived at midday and were very pleased when we were told we could skip the quite long line (nothing like the hours-long lines in Europe, mind) due to our baby. We then entered into a family-friendly... more

I have never been to the Louvre or the Hermitage--two of the finest art museums in the world according to most reports. However, I've been to the British Museum several times, all the Smithsonian museums many times, the Art Institute of Chicago and other top museums and I would have to say that to me the Met is probably the... more

Not sure which cafe we were at, but it was a great meal and the best cafe latte I've had in the US. I'd actually given up ordering coffee here becuase it is so dreadful. But I bit the bullet and was handsomley rewarded. And MOMA is a delight. It's great to go to Museum and see objects/ furniture you... more

Even though i had read about the museum before going i was still amazed by the shear quantity of items they had on show and what good condition they were shown in. There is also a massive range of things to see. Don't go thinking that it is just paintings. There were a wide range of exhibits including greek art,... more

Everytime I visit New York City, I make it a point to go to the Metropolitan museum. First, because I appreciate the quality of the exhibitions which is outstanding, but also because there are so many things to see that you cannot possibly cover everything in one visit. In fact, I don't think you should even TRY. It can quickly... more

Well, even my over the top anticipation was not enough to match this amazing place. We jumped off the tour bus and spent just a few hours because other things needed to be visited. But I do love this place and tell you right now, I will be going back. Honestly, I have seen some things but nothing to come... more

Sadly we only had 3 hours here so did a lot of running around and barely got to see 1/4 or everything on offer. Even though it is called an 'art museum' it is much more of a typical museum than another Moma. The array of paintings is astonishing and so numerous, there are amazing Egyptian exhibits, the sculptures where... more

Breathtaking. I can't even begin to remember how many times I've been to the Met (over 20) and everytime I go I experience something new! It is a must-see for everyone! Make sure if you visit in the summer to see the roof top, don't miss the early American paintings, the Modern paintings, the Greek statues, and the Egyptian tombs!... more

This place is remarkable. We took the highlights one hour tour. You really need more than a couple hours to enjoy the exhibits. Be sure to visit the rooftop exhibit, the green balloon dog and the red foil heart are worth seeing as well as the view of the city. more

I have never been so enthralled, amazed, and elated by a museum in my entire life, and I only got a chance to make it through three exhibits. My husband was a Classics major, while I was a Classics minor, and the wing dedicated to Greek and Roman art completely blew us away! The collection is all encompassing focusing on... more
